Stegosaurus Dinosaur Toy
Stegosaurus, well know Jurassic dinosaur, with its distinct arrowhead shaped rows of bony plates
running the course of its back, is the largest of the stegosaurus from Jurassic period. The actual
placement of the plates is disputed among paleontologists, as was their
function. They could have been used for regulating body temperature or
could have simply been a form of defensive armor. Stegosaurs' tail ends
with a cluster of long protruding spikes which it could have swung in its
defense against attackers. Its huge hind legs were longer than the front
legs, so that the Stegosaurs' body sloped down from the hips to the head.
Stegosaur most likely grazed in herds and roamed across North America during the
Jurassic period.
